Baaghi 4 Movie Review: Tiger's Strong Comeback, Sanjay Dutt's Scary Style; but the Film Seems Boring

Cinema lovers always wait for action-packed dramas, and Baaghi 4 promised exactly that. With Tiger Shroff returning once again as Ronnie and Sanjay Dutt stepping in as the menacing villain, the expectations were naturally very high. Directed by A. Harsha and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, this film hit theatres on 5th September 2025, carrying forward the popular Baaghi franchise. The makers promoted it as the darkest, most intense part of the series, and that is exactly what unfolds on the big screen.

From the very first frame, the film throws you into a world filled with blood, chaos, and larger-than-life action. The scale is grand, the visuals stylish, and the sound design loud enough to shake you in your seat. But as much as the adrenaline excites you, the constant violence and over-indulgence in gore make it a tiring ride at times. Still, fans of hardcore action cinema might feel satisfied.

Tiger Shroff as Ronnie

Tiger Shroff has always been known as Bollywood’s action star, and in Baaghi 4 he once again proves why. But this time, he doesn’t just rely on flying kicks and abs. His face carries anger, his eyes carry pain, and his body language shows a man who is broken yet unrelenting. You can clearly see the effort Tiger has put in to make Ronnie more layered. The emotional beats may not be as strong as in Baaghi 2, but compared to Baaghi 3, Tiger definitely adds more depth to his role here.

Whenever he appears on screen, the energy goes up. His combat choreography is sharp, and his dedication is visible in every punch and every leap. While some critics may argue that he still has a limited acting range, the truth is Baaghi 4 gives him a platform to showcase both his physical prowess and his emotional growth.

Sanjay Dutt as the Villain

If Tiger is the hero of the story, Sanjay Dutt is its dark soul. His villainous role is chilling, powerful, and one of the strongest points of the film. Dutt’s baritone voice, cold expressions, and commanding presence create fear. He doesn’t need to scream; a single glare is enough to make the audience uneasy. He walks into the narrative like a shadow and dominates almost every scene he is in.

It’s refreshing to see Sanjay Dutt embrace such a menacing character with full confidence. Bollywood often struggles to create memorable villains in modern times, but Baaghi 4 succeeds here. In fact, many viewers might leave the theatre remembering Dutt more than Tiger.

Supporting Cast and Performances

The film also introduces Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu in her debut role, and she brings freshness to the screen. Her innocence, charm, and chemistry with Tiger are noteworthy. Even though her character has limited screen time, she leaves an impact. She even participates in a few stunt sequences, which is rare for debut actresses, and she handles them convincingly.

Sonam Bajwa adds glamour and lightness to an otherwise dark film. Her songs and brief moments provide breathing space between heavy action sequences.

Upendra Limaye shines as a strict police officer, balancing seriousness with authenticity. Sudesh Lehri, on the other hand, delivers comedy at just the right time, helping audiences recover from the constant violence. Shrëyas Talpade brings warmth in his limited role, while Saurabh Sachdeva and Sheeba Akashdeep strengthen the secondary character arcs. Overall, the ensemble cast is well-chosen, and almost everyone leaves a mark.

Direction and Execution

Director A. Harsha had a clear vision: make Baaghi 4 the most stylish and brutal entry in the franchise. He succeeds in giving the film a polished look. The cinematography captures the darkness of the story, and the large-scale action set pieces are shot with precision. There is no doubt that this is the grandest Baaghi so far in terms of production design and action choreography.

However, the narrative often suffers because of over-focus on visuals and fights. The story feels predictable, and the screenplay becomes repetitive after a point. Too many sequences are built only to show Tiger’s stunts or Dutt’s intimidation, which makes the overall flow draggy. With a runtime of 157 minutes, the film feels longer than it should have been.

Music and Background Score

The soundtrack is a mixed bag. Songs like Guzara and Marjaana are soulful and linger in your heart. They bring emotional pauses in the otherwise high-voltage narrative. On the other hand, tracks like Bahli Sohni and Ye Mera Husn Utna fail to create much impact.

The background score, however, deserves praise. It adds to the intensity, magnifies the suspense, and supports the film’s dark tone. Without it, many scenes might have felt flat.

Weaknesses of the Film

The biggest weakness of Baaghi 4 is its story. While the actors perform with dedication, the script doesn’t offer them enough depth. The plot twists are easy to guess, and several moments remind you of older Bollywood action films. Some characters seem to exist only to add more fights or glamour, with no real substance.

The relentless action also works against the film. While action lovers might clap, a large part of the audience will find it exhausting. A balance of emotions and storytelling, like we saw in Baaghi 2, is missing here.

Comparison with Earlier Baaghi Films

The Baaghi franchise has always been about Tiger Shroff’s heroism. The first part was refreshing, the second was emotional, and the third was over-the-top in terms of scale. Baaghi 4 tries to be darker and more violent than all of them. While this gives the film a unique identity, it also limits its appeal. Viewers who loved the romantic angle of earlier films might not connect with this heavy tone.

Should You Watch Baaghi 4?

So, is Baaghi 4 worth your ticket money? The answer depends on what you expect.

If you love non-stop action, bone-crunching fights, and Tiger Shroff’s high-energy stunts, you will definitely enjoy this movie. Add to that Sanjay Dutt’s terrifying villain act, and the film offers enough to thrill action buffs.

But if you are looking for an engaging story, layered characters, or something emotionally moving, Baaghi 4 might disappoint you. Its long runtime, predictable script, and excessive violence can feel burdensome.

In simple words, Baaghi 4 is a stylish action spectacle with powerhouse performances but lacks soul. Watch it for Tiger Shroff’s grand comeback and Sanjay Dutt’s villainy, but don’t expect freshness in storytelling.
