Two big Bollywood films released together on 5th September – Baaghi 4 starring Tiger Shroff and Sanjay Dutt, and The Bengal Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri with veterans like Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Pallavi Joshi. Both films carried heavy expectations, but after two days, the box office numbers clearly show which film is leading the race.
Baaghi 4 Shows Strong Hold
Tiger Shroff has always been known for action, but this time, fans and critics are also praising his acting skills. In Baaghi 4, he plays Rauni, a young man who sees things that are not real. Sanjay Dutt’s presence adds power to the film, while Sonam Bajwa and Harnaaz Sandhu shine in their supporting roles.
The film opened well on Friday with ₹12 crore. On the second day, Saturday, early reports suggest that it collected around ₹7.01 crore. This brings its two-day India net total to ₹19.01 crore. The jump may not be massive, but the film is holding steady, especially considering the clash.
The Bengal Files Faces Slow Run
On the other side, The Bengal Files entered cinemas with huge buzz. Vivek Agnihotri’s previous film The Kashmir Files was a big blockbuster, and many expected similar magic this time. However, The Bengal Files has started much slower.
The film earned just ₹1.75 crore on opening day, and on Saturday, it managed a slight growth with ₹1.78 crore. Its two-day total now stands at ₹3.53 crore. Clearly, the audience response is far below expectations. Despite strong performances by Mithun Chakraborty and Anupam Kher, the film is struggling to connect at the box office.
Clash of Genres
It’s important to note that both films belong to completely different genres. Baaghi 4 is a mass-action entertainer with larger-than-life fights, stylish visuals, and youthful energy. The Bengal Files, on the other hand, is a serious, issue-based drama filled with heavy dialogues and political themes.
In a clash like this, it is common for the mass entertainer to attract bigger crowds in the initial days, while the serious drama depends more on word of mouth. As of now, Baaghi 4 is dominating the show, while The Bengal Files is crawling.
What Lies Ahead?
The real test will begin from Monday when the weekday collections arrive. If Baaghi 4 holds well, it can aim for a strong first week. The film’s action and Tiger’s popularity among the youth will be its biggest advantage. On the other hand, The Bengal Files must pick up pace quickly, otherwise it may fade out soon despite its powerful cast and subject.
For now, the box office roar belongs to Baaghi 4. Tiger Shroff has delivered a solid comeback, while Vivek Agnihotri’s film is yet to find its ground. The next few days will decide if this clash remains one-sided or turns into a surprise battle.
