Honestly, as a movie lover, mujhe lagta hai ki film ka intention genuine tha. The subject could have worked with tighter writing and better pacing. Songs were decent, background score was okay, but nothing memorable. Ek line mein kahu toh: "Dil se banaayi gayi film thi, but box office pe dil jeet nahi paayi."
Aur sach bolu toh: "Public ko emotional connect chahiye, sirf heavy dialogues nahi."
Cinema ka magic kabhi unpredictable hota hai, and Heer Express is the latest example. Released on 12 September 2025, the film promised a heartfelt drama with an emotional touch, but the box office journey tells a very different story. Directed by Umesh Shukla and starring Divita Juneja in her debut role, along with seasoned actors like Ashutosh Rana, Sanjay Mishra, and Gulshan Grover, the film had all the ingredients for a strong impact. Lekin, numbers don’t lie, and they clearly show the film struggled from Day 1.
Box Office Performance
On its opening day, Heer Express collected only ₹0.35 crore, a very slow start. Weekend mein bhi film ne zyada dum nahi dikhaya, ending Sunday with a total of ₹1.40 crore. The weekdays were dull, adding just ₹1.20 crore more and closing the first week at ₹2.60 crore nett. Lifetime collection bhi wahi pe ruka, meaning the film had no legs at all after Week 1.
Daily Box Office Collection:
- Day 1: ₹0.35 cr.
- Day 2: ₹0.50 cr.
- Day 3: ₹0.55 cr.
- Day 4: ₹0.30 cr.
- Day 5: ₹0.30 cr.
- Day 6: ₹0.30 cr.
- Day 7: ₹0.30 cr.
The film’s India Gross stood at ₹3.10 crore, with Overseas adding just ₹0.09 crore, bringing the Worldwide Gross to ₹3.19 crore. Against a budget of ₹25 crore, this performance is a clear disaster.
Why the Film Failed?
Audience response was mixed from Day 1. Many viewers felt the story lacked freshness. Divita Juneja, though promising as a debutant, did not get enough screen space to shine. The screenplay thoda draggy laga, and despite solid actors like Ashutosh Rana and Sanjay Mishra, the emotional impact was weak.
Another big reason was competition. September 2025 already had multiple releases like Lokah Chapter 1 and Kishkindhapuri, which grabbed more attention. Heer Express failed to create hype, and promotion bhi utna dhamakedar nahi tha.
Verdict
With just ₹3.19 crore worldwide gross, Heer Express has ended its run as a flop. The film will be remembered more as Divita Juneja’s debut than for its collections. Director Umesh Shukla, known for films like Oh My God!, could not recreate the same magic here.
In the end, Heer Express teaches us ek important lesson: content hi king hai. Chahe cast strong ho, ya budget bada ho, agar kahani public ke dil ko touch nahi kare, toh film ko chalana mushkil hai.
