‘Pushpa’ Record Broken! ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ Overtakes Allu Arjun’s Film at the Box Office – Rishab Shetty Reacts

Rishab Shetty’s latest film Kantara Chapter 1 has taken the box office by storm. Within just five days of its release, the movie has surpassed Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise in worldwide collections. Fans and critics are calling it one of the biggest blockbusters of 2025.

Rishab Shetty’s Reaction to the Success

In an interview with Times Now, Rishab Shetty expressed his gratitude for the film’s massive success. He said, “It feels amazing, but the credit goes to the audience and Hombale Films. Their blessings and support make me truly happy.”

Rishab added that box office records don’t feel like trophies to him; instead, they represent the emotions of the audience. “These records are not mine as an actor or director. They belong entirely to the viewers. They decide how far a film will go,” he explained.

Interestingly, Rishab revealed that Kantara Chapter 1 was never planned as a huge blockbuster. “I never thought it would reach this level. It began as a lockdown project. We built the story day by day,” he said. The movie, deeply rooted in the culture and spirituality of Karnataka’s coastal region, grew into a cinematic movement that crossed language and regional barriers.

Rishab Shetty Calls It a Blessing

The film’s success is being celebrated across the Indian film industry. Rishab, who is a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, described the journey of Kantara Chapter 1 as a divine blessing rather than an achievement. “Numbers will fade away someday, but stories rooted in faith and culture will live forever,” he said.

Box Office Collection

As per the latest reports, Kantara Chapter 1 has earned ₹255.75 crore net in India, with a gross of ₹307 crore. Additionally, it collected around $7 million (approximately ₹63 crore) from overseas markets. This brings its total worldwide gross to about ₹370 crore in just five days.

This outstanding figure means Kantara Chapter 1 has already beaten the worldwide gross of Pushpa: The Rise, which earned ₹350.1 crore globally. The film is now expected to surpass the lifetime collection of the first Kantara, which grossed ₹407.82 crore worldwide.

With this success, Rishab Shetty has once again proved that strong storytelling and cultural depth can triumph over star power. Fans are already calling Kantara Chapter 1 one of the most powerful films of the year, standing tall alongside other major releases like They Call Him OG.
