The film marks the comeback of Priyanka Chopra to Indian cinema and her first-ever collaboration with superstar Mahesh Babu and filmmaker SS Rajamouli. Priyanka Chopra Becomes One of the Highest-Paid Actresses
For the first time, Priyanka Chopra is teaming up with SS Rajamouli for “Varanasi,” earlier known as SSMB29.
According to a report by Koimoi, Priyanka has demanded a huge ₹30 crore fee for the film. With this paycheck, she is now among the highest-paid actresses in India. The report also claims that Priyanka has increased her salary compared to her previous films.
How Much Were Alia and Anushka Paid Earlier?
- Alia Bhatt received ₹9 crore for Rajamouli’s RRR.
- Anushka Shetty charged ₹5 crore for Baahubali.
If the reports about Priyanka are true, she will even surpass Deepika Padukone, who is currently known for charging some of the highest fees among actresses. However, there is no official confirmation of Priyanka’s salary yet.
Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli Are Working Without a Salary

Rajamouli reportedly believes in Mahesh Babu’s star power and wants to create a legacy film with him.
Instead of a salary, both of them are said to have agreed to a 40% profit-sharing deal with the makers.

- His entire earnings will depend on how much profit the film makes.
